The OT evaluates and treats patients by physician referral. He/she plans treatment programs and performs therapy procedures to restore function, prevent disability and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery. He/she appropriately modifies treatment plans and procedures specific to early adult, middle adult and late adult patients, and uses communication techniques for specific age groups. He/she applies knowledge of growth and development and the aging process to obtain optimal results.
The OT must have a BS degree in Occupational Therapy, be registered with the NCBOT, and have a valid South Carolina OT license.
