Job Description

Under general supervision, pursues non-government third party payers for maximum payment on patient accounts. Requests additional information as necessary, and ensures accounts needing maintenance are processed accurately. Internal Applicants Only


High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 3 years experience in health insurance required; an associate or bachelors degree is preferred. Must have working knowledge of the hospital revenue cycle, and be particularly knowledgeable of third party payer requirements. Must be a self-starter, possess excellent analytical skills, and be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral communications. Must have some competence with excel; be able to work independently, and discreet in handling confidential patient information. Requires the skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with numerous internal and external customers.
