Under Minimal supervision of the PFS Director, coordinates and manages the revenue cycle functions of Patient Accounts, including but not limited to billing, cashiering, credit and collection, denial management, data entry and other miscellaneous functions. Provides direction and support to staff, promotes staff development and collaborates with other managers, directors and administrative staff to ensure operations function in a safe, effective, and fiscally responsible manner. Additional responsibilities include analysis and resolution of problems related to areas of assignment as well as personnel activities including hiring, training, development and termination of assigned staff. Demonstrates a well-rounded working knowledge of functions throughout PFS. Works closely with the Patient Accounts team to ensure efficient and timely processes and provides detailed feedback to the PFS Director regarding the performance. Responsible for monitoring collections and denial trends specifically significant changes and/or any anomalies. Monitors and interprets reports, including denial reports, monthly A/R reports and all other reports as necessary. Ensures the accuracy, the timeliness and appropriateness of billing and collections functions and results. Reconciles accounts receivable balances to general ledger accounts as directed. Works closely with IT resources and vendors to ensure the highest level of technology is being utilized throughout the department.
Applicant must have a degree in Healthcare Management or related field or Associates degree plus 3 years of relevant experience preferred (relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered). Experience in healthcare provider revenue cycle operations or similar service environment required. Experience working as a supervisor/manager within PFS/revenue cycle required. Experience/working knowledge of Meditech preferred. Certified Revenue Cycle Professional or Certified Revenue Cycle Executive by the American Associates of Healthcare Administrative Management or Certified Financial Healthcare Professional by the Healthcare Financial Management Association, preferred.
