Job Description

The Infection Control Practitioner will serve as coordinator for the Infection Control Program, reduces potential infections through risk assessment and reduction strategies, formulates, implements, and evaluates infection control standards, policies, and procedures for patient care areas and support services. Must oversee infection prevention and control initiatives in the hospital and clinics, conduct infection control surveillance and collect data and submit to stakeholders and regulatory agencies, reduce potential infections through risk assessment and reduction strategies. Complies with NHSN, DHEC, CDC and Joint Commission guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

Applicant must have at least 2 years experience in Infection Control; general knowledge of principals of Infection Control, computers, medical records and excellent written and verbal communication. Must have certification or specialized training in Infection Control through a recognized university, program or Federal agency such as CDC. BSN Degree preferred.
