The Director of Surgical & Outpatient Services is a registered nurse who has 24-hour accountability and responsibility for the operation of patient care departments, including Surgical Services, GI Laboratory Services, PACU, Outpatient Services, Sterile Processing. These responsibilities include providing excellence and quality in patient care delivery, fiscal responsibility, management and leadership of staff, collaboration with medical staff, as well as maintaining working relationships with other hospital leadership, and positive interaction with families, visitors, and vendors. The Director is accountable for continuous personal growth and development as well as encouraging and providing opportunities for staff to gain expertise. The Director possesses excellent interpersonal skills, problem identification and resolution abilities. The Director is responsible for meeting the standards set forth by The Joint Commission, DHEC, and the Standards of Nursing Care and Practice.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Masters Degree in Nursing or actively pursuing preferred.
5+ years of progressive management in Nursing.
CNOR and/or surgical clinical experience preferred.
Must have South Carolina or Multi-State Compact Licensure.
ACLS - Preferred within first year of employment.
PALS - Preferred within first year of employment.
