Job Description

Serves as shift supervisor of a medical-surgical Central Supply Department in support of 80 internal supply points within an academic Medical Center. Provides administrative, supervisory, and managerial functions as required to support the department's mission. Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the age and level of development of patients, with consideration of the needs of patients' families.

Qualifications

High school graduate (or GED equivalent) and four years related work experience. Working knowledge of supply practices and procedures, inventory control policy and procedures, and personnel management are essential. Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts and holidays. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, shipping/receiving, physical inventories and quality control checks. Must be computer literate and have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and E-Mail systems such as Outlook. Must possess the ability to learn Horizon Enterprise Materials Management (HEMM) which is department specific software program. A valid South Carolina Driver's License is preferred.

(Infrequent) Ability to push and pull wheeled carts/trucks that weigh up to and in excess of 200lbs to various locations in the hospital. (Frequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand. (Continuous) Ability to work indoors. (Continuous) Ability to work outdoors under all weather and temperature conditions. (Infrequent) Must possess good olfactory senses. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined close quarters. (Frequent) Ability to fully use both legs. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to work in confined cramped quarters. (Infrequent) Ability to perform 'pinching' operations. (Frequent) Ability to match and discriminate between colors.
