Job Description

The AccessHealth Specialist is responsible for greeting all patients, collecting and documenting correct demographic and billing information, assist patients with scheduling/rescheduling/confirming of all appointments, and maintaining an orderly flow of patients through the reception and lobby area. Representatives will be required to perform patient access activities in support of all AccessHealth clients and staff. Duties also include pre-screening incoming patients, collecting patient demographics, maintaining AccessHealth paper and electronic files, and answering AccessHealths primary phone. Must understand process flows and be able to learn software technology required to support AccessHealth Spartanburg staff and clients.

High school diploma or GED equivalency.

Associates degree in Business, Technology or a related field.

Three years of medical office, hospital registration, or customer service experience. With Associates degree, one year of experience required.

Five years of information technology, medical office, customer service or related experience.


Proficiency with technology and Windows operating systems.

Medical Terminology certification
