Provides quality patient care consistent with the standards and guidelines established by AnMed Health Emergency Department; maintains flow of EMS patients; monitors and interprets the cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation levels on all patients that require electrocardiography monitoring and interpretation. While working in the Emergency Department the Communication Specialist works under the guidance and supervision of the Emergency Department nurse(s) and charge nurse(s) providing and treatment as ordered by the physician(s) / provider(s) helping to promote quality and safe care of the patients within the department.
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved paramedic program required. Minimum of two (2) years ALS, EMS or HEMS experience required. Current Paramedic Certification in South Carolina required. Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred. Certification as Critical Care Paramedic preferred. Rhythm Interpretation and 12 Lead EKG interpretation certificates preferred.
PRN; Hours vary depending on needs of department; weekend and holiday rotation required
