Job Description

The Clinical Pharmacy Analyst reports to the manager of a designated team supporting the Epic Enterprise application suite (including but not limited to the following: Orders, OpTime, Anesthesia, Willow, Beacon, and Phoenix) and the suite of pharmacy information systems. Under indirect supervision, the Clinical Pharmacy Analyst works collaboratively with users of MUSCs Clinical Information Systems (CIS), with all departments in the Office of the CIO (OCIO) division, and all other departments or groups, campus-wide, as necessary, in problem-solving issues related to CIS, with primary focus on the integrated Epic Enterprise system comprising the electronic health record (EHR). This role coordinates aspects of planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to the CIS. This position provides CIS support through participation in a 7x24-hour on-call rotation schedule.

Qualifications

A Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelors degree in pharmacy with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a health care institution preferably of similar size and complexity. Residency training and/or health care IT experience preferred. Certification in any one of the following Epic Enterprise modules is preferred: Ambulatory, Inpatient, ClinDoc, Orders, Radiant, Willow, Beacon, Phoenix, Op-Time / Anesthesia, ASAP. Self-starter with good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Understands database concepts. Experience with word processing and spreadsheets. Demonstrated experience with project management and management of multiple simultaneous projects. Works well individually and in a team environment. Demonstrates a positive attitude. Able to advise / mentor others and serve in temporary project and team lead roles when necessary. Understanding of clinical systems, applications, and/or clinical workflows. Required Epic certification(s) must be completed within 6 months of hiring date. New version training and certification must be completed within 1 month prior to upgrade kick-off unless there are extenuating circumstances as agreed by the manager.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required
