Job Description

The Tele-ICU Program Assistant reports to the Telehealth Clinical Services RN Manager. Under the general supervision, the Tele-ICU Program Assistant assists with operational duties in support of the Tele-ICU and ICU Innovations telehealth programs.

This individual will provide technical and support for research studies investigating the impact of Tele-ICU and critical care outreach programs in the state of South Carolina. Duties will include data entry, routine and complex data management tracking, and general administrative support for the research team. The Program Assistant will also coordinate the distribution of research materials and will keep accurate records. The Program Assistant will prepare and submit IRB applications associated with the tele-ICU and ICU Innovations. The Program Assistant will directly interact with tele-ICU and ICU Innovations partner site personnel and principle investigators, including those at remote sites, thereby requiring effective communication skills (both written and verbal). The Program Assistant will review tele-ICU patient data and ICU Innovations survey data. The Program Assistant will travel to partner hospitals for ICU Innovations educational offerings and assist in coordinating these visits.


A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years relevant program experience required. A bachelors degree may be substituted for the required program experience. Knowledge of telehealth preferred. Knowledge of the health care credentialing process preferred. Knowledge of grant application process preferred. Must be highly organized and maintain exceptional attention to detail. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data. Must be able to prioritize tasks and ensure critical deadlines are met. Must be adaptable to change, and extreme fluctuations in work load. Must be able to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
