This position requires the case management of up to 40 patients. Working with the physicians to coordinate patient care and providing actual patient care in the wound healing. Responsible for services such as setting up home health, ordering DME, reports to referring physicians, data base entry, and HBO competencies are required for this position. The HBO Nurse is required to manage the hyperbaric treatment care of all HBO patients as well as cover in the wound care clinic RN services when needed. Duties may involve patient chart reviews and other compliance review activities to assist the department. The HBO Nurse completes database entry for all patients. Will also serve as the safety officer of the clinic and is responsible for all HBO competencies of staff as well providing education to staff and in general working with the clinic as a team member to provide optimum patient care services and exemplarily overall customer service as well as complete other duties as assigned.
Education: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) preferred.
Experience: RN with case management and wound care experience preferred. Previous experience and HBO competencies preferred.
Licensure and certification:
Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing required.
HBO certification required. If hired with no training or certification, the employee will be required to attend off-site HBO certification training within 1 year from the start date of employment with GHS.
American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the GHS Staff Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the GHS Staff Development Office are approved by Staff development on a case by case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two years.
Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers. Power point, excel, word, Outlook, data base entry and other computer skills are required.

The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
