M.D., Medical Degree/Diploma, or foreign equivalent, completion of ACGME three (3) year residency program to include training in internal medicine and (1) year of experience working as physician or hospitalist. South Carolina medical license or eligibility for medical license in South Carolina is also required.
Physician focusing on preventative medicine. Examine patients, analyze and evaluate their medical history, physical condition, and examination results to develop treatment plans and discuss risks. Prescribe and administer therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary. Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients, advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention, and refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary. Direct and coordinate the activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, other medical staff, and health care providers.
