Job Description

Provides clinical and administrative support to include assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, performing registration and check out functions, scheduling appointments and assisting patients and visitors. Greets, checks visitors and patients in and out, and collects appropriate deposits and co-pay amounts and escorts patients to examination rooms and prepares them for physician. Contacts patients after missed appointments, reschedules, and sends appointment letters. Prepares medication listing for physician, reviews listing at each visit, and updates patient medication listing. Review charts to ensure proper documents are available for physician to review at the time of patients appointment. Checks files for HIPPA and other required paperwork, files patient charts and other documents/papers, and completes disability forms.


High School Diploma or GED and completion of college or technical college certification in medical related field or Medical Assistant or CNA certification or graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program and one (1) years related experience in a healthcare environment or three (3) years related experience in a healthcare environment and knowledge of insurance and third party payor requirements and proficient skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
