Job Description

Under general supervision perform gross examination of tissue and dictate findings. Must work quickly and under pressure as answers may be needed while the patient is still in surgery.

Received, verify, and prepare specimens using correct technique and protocol.

Organize and perform, limited analysis of specimens assigned.

Perform examination of specimens through inspection by palpation and with the aid of instruments. Dictate account of all important findings from gross examination.

Develop personal knowledge of trends, developments and techniques through trade publications, in-service programs and continuing education.

Serve as Laboratory courier.

Perform routine and pre-routine maintenance.

Education Required: Baccalaureate degree.
