AnMed Health is South Carolina’s largest, independent not-for-profit health system and one of only three health systems in the state to be designated a Magnet facility for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Its mission is to passionately blend the art of caring with the science of medicine to optimize the health of patients, staff and the community.
The 588-bed health system is anchored by AnMed Health Medical Center, a 461-bed acute care hospital. AnMed Health also has a satellite North Campus which includes the 72-bed AnMed Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital, the 55-bed AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a comprehensive Cancer Center, physician offices and the Cardiac and Orthopedic Center. Major service lines include Heart Care, Cancer Care, Women’s and Children’s Services, and a variety of diagnostic and surgical services.
AnMed Health serves an eight-county area that covers much of the Upstate and northeast Georgia. The health system’s medical staff includes roughly 400 physicians, and with close to 3,400 employees, AnMed Health is Anderson County’s largest employer. In 2009, the health system embarked on a new wave of growth by signing affiliation agreements with Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, N.C., and Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens, S.C. In 2013, AnMed Health added Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Ga. to its network of affiliated hospitals.

Anderson is the county seat for Anderson County, a fast-growing, diverse community of about 190,000 people. Our county borders Hartwell Lake, one of the largest and most popular lakes in the Southeast. As a result, Anderson County is destination for outdoor recreation with nearly 1,000 miles of shoreline and mild seasons year-round.
